Penny Chen Yokogawa

Dr. Penny Chen is a Senior Principal Technology Strategist at Yokogawa US Technology Center (USTC).  She is responsible for technology strategy and standardization focusing on wireless, networking and related security, and exploring new technologies for industrial applications.  Penny is actively involving in ISA100 (Wireless Systems for Automation), ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI), ISA Communication Division, and variety of IoT (Internet-of-Things) standardization activities including IEEE P2413 IoT Architecture Reference Framework.  She is currently the Chairman of ISA100 WCI, Director of ISA Communication Division 2015-2017, US Expert in IEC SC65C of Industrial Process Measurement, Control and Automation Technical Committee, and Co-Chair of the ISA100.15 Backhaul Network Working Group. Over past 20 years, Penny focused on wireless networking technologies and related security solutions for a variety of wireless technologies include ISA100, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 2G/2.5G/3G Mobile technologies.  Penny received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.
